Liquid nitrogen treatment, sometimes called cryotherapy, is a simple, safe and effective treatment for multiple skin conditions, including:
Liquid nitrogen treatment for skincare is a form of cryotherapy. What cryotherapy means is that it involves using a very cold spray on the affected area. As simple as it sounds, evidence shows that it benefits the wide range of skin conditions shown above, as well as some skin cancers. We are happy to say that at Alternatives Clinic, we offer liquid nitrogen treatment for all the conditions mentioned in the bullet points above!
* treatment usually happens in the same treatment session, but is subject to agreement between you and your clinician that the problem is suitable for liquid nitrogen treatment and that you understand the side effects (no matter how minimal they usually are).
For the most part, a highly qualified and fully insured nurse practitioner will carry out your treatment. However, you can choose to have your treatment carried out by our highly experienced dermatologist Dr Bassam Zeina. Some sensitive areas may need to be seen by the dermatologist, for example when the affected area is very close to the eyes. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call us and ask on 01908 526 524.
First of all, your healthcare professional will discuss your issue with you. They will identify whether or not your skin condition is a good candidate for treatment, and explain the procedure in more detail. This is important so that you can make an informed decision about whether the treatment is right for you.
In most cases, the treatment is carried out during the same session. This means you don’t have to come back on another day after the consultation. For the treatment, your healthcare professional will simply apply a cold spray onto the affected area. In most cases, the condition will shrink and disappear within one or two weeks. Follow up treatment may be necessary for some conditions, however seborrheic keratosis is almost always cured with a single session.
Fortunately, skin tags and seborrheic keratosis will usually resolve after a single session. However, other conditions often require follow-up treatments. If you do require follow-up, we will offer a 30% discount on all subsequent treatments.
Cryotherapy treatment pricing starts at £75. This includes the initial consultation, including the treatment of 1 or a few areas depending on the condition. For detailed pricing, please visit the page for each condition. You can find the pages for each treatment here: skin tag removal, verruca treatment, viral wart removal, seborrheic keratosis treatment.
