Botox has become increasingly popular as a cosmetic treatment to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Many people wonder, “how often should I top up Botox?” and “how can I make my Botox treatment last longer?” In this post, we’ll provide insights into these questions and clarify the concept of the free 2-week top-up.
At our clinic, we use a science-based approach to determine the ideal frequency for repeated Botox treatments. For crow’s feet, the standard treatment lasts on average 10-12 weeks. However, doubling the amount of Botox to 12 units per side can safely extend the effects to 12-16 weeks. We typically use this larger dose so that clients enjoy longer periods between top-ups. Doses even greater have shown no benefit.
For the frown area, research shows that after the first treatment, 70% of clients experience effects lasting 3-4 months, 10-20% experience effects lasting more than 4 months, and 10% see results lasting less than 3 months.
Maintaining a consistent Botox regime can extend the duration of the treatment’s effects. One study found that patients receiving regular treatment every 10 weeks experienced effects lasting up to 6 months after 2 years.
By following these tips, you can extend the treatment effect for an additional 3-4 weeks.
Some people may require a Botox top up after 2 weeks due to their body’s unique reaction to the treatment. At Alternatives Clinic, less than 10% of our clients require a top-up after 2 weeks. These top-ups are free at our clinic and most other clinics. As Dr. Bassam Zeina becomes more familiar with your needs, top-ups may no longer be required.
Determining the optimal Botox top up frequency and making the treatment last longer depend on various factors. By understanding these factors and following the tips provided, you can enjoy the benefits of your Botox treatment for extended periods.
